EN NOTA REGGAE

 

El Reggae es un género desarrollado en Jamaica a mediados de los 60s, sus orígenes provienen del rocksteady y el ska, a su vez influenciado por folklore africano, rhythm, jazz, entre otros. El término "Reggae" fue usado por primera vez en Kingston para darle una denominación a lo que entonces era conocido como rocksteady lento. Entre los subgéneros que comprende el Reggae están el dub, roots, early, entre otros. Este género fue cultivado masivamente por muchos artistas y propagado a nivel mundial, uno de los principales representantes de este estilo fue Bob Marley, para quien el Reggae fue y es “la música del rey"

I Can See Clearly Now (Ahora puedo ver claramente), es una canción compuesta y cantada por Johnny Nash en 1972, este tema de letras opstimistas ha tenido mucho éxito en su versión original, pero también fue cover en voces de distintos artistas y uno de los más exitoso fue la versión de Jimmy Cliff, publicado en el álbum soundtrack de la cinta Cool Runnings en 1993.
