PHANTOM LIMB

Phantom Limb fue el primer sencillo de la banda estadounidense The Shins, publicado en el 2006, e  incluido en el álbum "Wincing the Night Away" del 2007. El escritor y vocalista de la banda James Mercer, describe esta canción como una historia de ficción que habla sobre una pareja de adolescente lesbianas que luchan contra los prejuicios de las personas de la pequeña ciudad en la que viven. El videoclip dirigido por Patrick Daughters, muestra la dramatización de la historia de Juana de arco y la conquista de México por los españoles, una obra actuada por la misma banda acompañada de un grupo de niños actores...

The Magic Numbers, la banda inglesa conformada por dos parejas de hermanos; los Stodart (Romeo y Michelle) y los Gannon (Sean y Angela), inició su carrera en el año 2002 haciendo giras por Londres. Lanzaron su primer disco denominado “The Magic Numbes” en el año 2005 y fueron teloneros de bandas como Travis, U2, Flaming Lips, etc., de este álbum se extrae la canción Forever Lost (Perdido por Siempre) que fue sencillo para promocionar sus giras. La canción “The Miracle” que en español se traduce en "El Milagro", fue escrita por Freddie Mercury y John Deacon aportando créditos a la banda Queen, lanzada en 1989 como parte del álbum del mismo nombre. Esta canción hace alusión a la naturaleza, a las grandes creaciones humanas y a célebres personajes de la música y la historia; todos referidos como “los milagros de Dios", es una canción que además expresa los sentimientos pacifistas de Freddie, a la aceptación de la paz, la libertad y el fin de todas las guerras, como expresa en algunos versos:

COFFEE & TV

 Coffe & TV es un sencillo de la banda británica Blur que fue publicado en 1999 e incluido en el álbum “13”, lo peculiar de esta canción es que, quien hace de la voz principal es el guitarrista de la banda Graham Coxon; y como apoyo en los coros participó Damon Albarn. 

El video para Coffe & TV fue dirigido por Hammer & Tongs, la trama cuenta la historia de una caja de leche llamada Milky (creado por Jim Henson). Ante la desaparición de Graham, su preocupada familia decide propagar sus fotografías en cajas de leche y es cuando Milky decide emprender su propia búsqueda que después de una serie de aventuras, logra encontrarlo junto a su banda. Graham reconoce su imagen en la caja y decide volver al hogar, tomándose antes el contenido de Milky y luego desechándolo, al final del video, el fantasma del pequeño héroe, se encuentra con otra caja de leche para juntos ir al cielo…

Una de las más hermosas canciones del Flaco Spinetta es “Los libros de la buena memoria”, del álbum "El Jardín de los Presentes" que con la banda “Invisible” fue grabado en el año 1976.
